This gorgeous campground located in the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area offers wilderness lovers a chance to kick back and unwind around a fire without sacrificing all modern conveniences. It offers 384 lakefront and wooded camping sites, 283 with electrical hookups and 44 with water, sewer and electric. Another 57 are primitive camp sites. Or, you can stay in one of Piney's 19 primitive cabins. The campground has a number of options to accommodate you and your vacation style.

Campsites

Set up camp at any of Piney Campground's spacious campsites. Piney's camping season runs from March 1 through Nov. 30, and most of its sites can accommodate various units from tents to campers to recreational vehicles. The campground limits each space to two units and two vehicles. Also, water might not be available at sites during the spring and fall due to cold temperatures. However, you can find it at designated hydrants.

Cabins

If camping isn't your style, enjoy rustic living in the Piney cabins. These cozy one-room structures can accommodate up to four people and contain a double bed, a bunk bed, a ceiling fan and a small table with chairs, along with electrical outlets. Air conditioners and portable heaters (available upon request) will keep you comfortable throughout your stay. Bring your own linens, sleeping bags and pillows. Piney doesn't allow pets, smoking or additional camping at the cabins.

Campground Amenities

At Piney, you won't need to panic about items you've forgotten at home. The newly renovated Piney Outpost sells food and drinks, ice, firewood, tick repellent, limited camping supplies and perishable goods. You can also find soft drink machines behind the gatehouse and some shower buildings. And when you need to wash clothing after a long hike, head to the washing machines located in the shower buildings in designated areas.

Outdoor Recreation

Try something new at Piney Campground! Its archery range, ball field, bike trails, hiking trails, campfire theater, swimming beach area, boat ramps and fishing pier provide ample opportunities for guests to indulge in new experiences or enjoy already beloved hobbies. You also can rent various pieces of equipment at Piney's Outpost from April through October. So, wake up and go rent a bicycle, then head out on the Fort Henry Trail System. Enjoy this path once taken by Civil War soldiers on their ways to protect Fort Henry, Fort Heiman and Fort Donelson.

You can also catch one of the fun recreation programs Piney hosts daily during the summer. And, if you're lucky enough to be camping in mid-September, check out the Camper's Fair. At the fair, you can peruse wares at the camper's flea market or admire fabulous recreational vehicles, fifth wheels and motorhomes at the dealers' showcase.

On warm, summer days, Piney also hosts concerts for guests. Sit back with your family and enjoy the music as breezes rustle through trees around you.

You'll never encounter a dull moment at Piney Campground. This beautiful place gives you the chance to relax by the lake, hike through the forest or swim with your family. There's so much to do; you'll never get bored.
