Those looking for something closer to LBL's visitors center may want to look at the options, both rustic and full service, available around Aurora, Kentucky, on the more western side of the park.

Primitive Cabin Rentals in Land Between The Lakes
If you're looking for something a bit more rugged than a cabin rental, there are primitive cabins at Piney Campground, Wranglers Campground, Hillman Ferry Campground and Energy Lake Campground in Land Between The Lakes.
Those staying at Piney Campground, located in the southeastern region of LBL, will find one double bed, one bunk bed, a ceiling fan with an overhead light, a small table and chairs, as well as a few electrical outlets.
Wranglers Campground, located south of US 68 and also found within the boundaries of LBL, offers similar amenities for overnight guests.
Campgrounds in Land Between The Lakes
There are also campsites available for rent at Energy Lake and Hillman Ferry Campground located in Land Between The Lakes.
Energy Lake is an inlet separated from the rest of Lake Barkley. It's a popular campsite for families, scout troops and reunions. The campgrounds are equipped with electrical hookups and therefore can accommodate RVs and other types of campers.
Visitors to Energy Lake Campground can enjoy lakeside, as well as wooded campsites. Other amenities include canoe rentals (in season), a beach and activity area for the whole family to enjoy. Some primitive sites are available, as well.
Hillman Ferry Campground is about five miles south of Grand Rivers, Kentucky. These campgrounds include 374 lakefront and wooded sites that can accommodate various types of campers and RVs. Water and sewer hookups are available here. Other amenities include the Hillman Ferry Outpost where guests can purchase limited camping supplies, snacks and mosquito repellant. Hillman Ferry includes a campfire amphitheater, two boat ramps, a fishing dock, picnic table and a ball field.
