	Health Express Stops

	The Murray-Calloway County Hospital Health Express will offer blood pressure checks, pulse and blood sugar screenings at its stops during the month of March. If you find that any of the following conditions apply to you, it is important that you have your blood sugar checked: •Annually, if family history of diabetes exists •Anytime there is a 20 pound weight gain or loss •Every three years under all other conditions If you are diagnosed with diabetes, you can have your blood sugar monitored on the Health Express with a written prescription from you physician and file it with the Health Express nurse. Your physician will specify the frequency for monitoring on the prescription. These screenings are offered to detect disease in its earliest stages when there are no symptoms. If you are experiencing symptoms, you should see your physician as soon as possible. During the month of March, the Health Express will be making the stops at the following locations: •Friday, March 12, 8:30 am to 11:30 am and 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm – Save-A-Lot in Murray, KY •Tuesday, March 16, 9:00 am to 11:30 am and 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm – Lowe’s in Mayfield, KY •Friday, March 19, 8:30 am to 11:30 am and 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm – Office Depot in Murray, KY •Monday, March 22, 8:30 am to 11:30 am – George Weak’s Community Center in Murray, KY •Thursday, March 25, 8:30 am to 11:30 am and 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm – WalMart in Murray, KY •Tuesday, March 30, 9:00 am to 11:30 am and 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm – WalMart in Paris, TN Additionally, MCCH Health Express will have the following stops offering free screenings: •Tuesday, March 23, 8:00 a.m. to 12 Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. – Free Vision, Osteoporosis, Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar Screenings at the Center for Health & Wellness in Murray, KY Also available at these screenings is an Occult Blood Screening Kit. The cost is $4. This screening detects blood in the stool, which can be an early indicator of colon cancer. 	Murray State ADA Conference

	Murray State's Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is hosting a conference on ADA and equal opportunity. Topics will include employee and student rights, legal cases, new regulations and laws, and education and training for persons with disabilities. There will also be opportunity for networking with students and professionals throughout the community. Everyone is invited! Entry fee is $5, and free for students (must show ID). Refreshments will be served. Come learn all the things you need to know about the ADA and your rights, both on campus and in the workplace. 1-4 p.m.

	Cooper Clayton Smoking Cessation

	The Cooper Clayton Smoking Cessation class will be meeting Tuesdays, March 2, 9, 16, 23, and 31 from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm at the Center for Health and Wellness Conference Room. The Cooper-Clayton method to stop smoking is a 13–week program that provides weekly education sessions in a supportive environment. The program encourages the use of nicotine replacement therapy and will be held every Tuesday for 13 consecutive weeks. Registration is required.
